Why is it important?
LANDSCAPE PAINTING
- Students will explore the meaning of Memorial Day by creating artwork that reflects remembrance, gratitude, and patriotism. Through the use of color (red, white, and blue), silhouette, and simple landscape composition, students will learn how to express emotion and storytelling in their artwork while developing foundational skills in painting, blending, and composition.
FALLEN SOLDIER DRAWING
- Students will explore the theme of remembrance by creating a fallen soldier silhouette composition. They will learn how to use contrast, proportion, and simple shapes to build a recognizable figure, while expressing emotion through a symbolic background such as a sunset or flag-inspired sky. The lesson emphasizes respect, storytelling, and thoughtful artistic choices.
